Knowing that

HEALING

TAKES

AS LONG

AS IT TAKES

The sessions allow time for:

Getting acquainted

Sharing our stories

Discovering the feelings that accompany us in grief

Learning ways to cope during the difficult times

Sharing strategies to survive the holidays

Gathering local resources

Remembering our loved ones in a special way at our last meeting together

We come together in a spirit of affirmation and understanding.

The purpose

The purpose of the Understanding Your Grief group at the Swedberg Family Center is to help grieving people:

· Talk about their grief

· Find support

· Gain deepened awareness

· Expand their knowledge and understanding of grief

During these sessions, participants will be invited to share their experiences/feelings of loss with each other, and take the time to learn more about grief as a natural life process and find out what resources are available to us.  Often, one discovers that others have feelings similar to ours and that accepting our feelings can help us to survive, heal and grow.

Ellen and/or Ginger Swedberg will lead the Understanding Your Grief Group at the Swedberg Family Center.  Group size is limited, so call and reserve a space.

To inquire about meeting dates and to pre-register, please call Ginger or Ellen Swedberg at (715) 526-2631.
