Agnes A. Schwerke, age 75 of Shawano, passed away Monday, December 30, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 11, 1938 in Wiesbaden, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Johann and Frieda Busch. In 1957 she was married to Jerome Fischer and together the couple had five children. Agnes was a very outgoing, fun person who enjoyed the company of young people. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting area casinos. Agnes was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano and a 23 year member of the Shawano Lake Lionesses. On December 29, 1990 she was united in marriage to Percy Schwerke in Shawano. Agnes is survived by: her husband, Percy; 4 children, Debbie (Richard) Skalitzky of Shawano, John Fischer of Shawano, Shirley (Jim Lardinois) Pecore of Shawano, Tom (Sharon) Fischer of Little Suamico; a step daughter, Kathy Fischer of Neenah; 2 step sons, Mark (Jane) Schwerke, Michael (Sue) Schwerke of Shawano; a daughter-in-law, Roxanne Fischer; a step son-in-law, Travis Polman of Wausau; 8 grandchildren, Michael Grueb, Melissa Goldsberry, Ben Fischer, John Fischer, Jessica Fischer, Jason Pecore, Dustin Fischer, Chris Fischer; 6 step grandchildren, Andy, Tim, Ben, Brandon, and Catlyn Schwerke, and Jordan Polman; numerous great-grandchildren; and step brother and sister, Hans and Jeanette. Agnes was preceded in death by: her son, Tod Fischer; step daughter, Jenny Polman; son-in-law, Gerald Pecore; step granddaughter, Erin Polman; great grandson, Cielo Pecore; her parents; and former husband, Jerome Fischer. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 4, 2013 at the Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano with the Rev. Marty Black officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 11:00am until the time of the service. Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.
