Alan James Tauchen (Al) , age 61 of Bonduel, passed away , on his birthday, Tuesday, December 4, 2018 in Bonduel .  Born on December 4, 1957 in Waupaca, he was a son of Herbert and M arlys (Cobian) Tauchen.  H e is a 1976 graduate of Bonduel Hi gh School. Soon after graduation, Al purs ued his dream of own ing and operating a dairy f arm . Together with his parents and three brothers, they built up Tauchen Har mony Valley, I nc. to the successful f amily farm it is today. He was a ctive on many boards, comm itte es, and community organizations , such as the T own of Hartland Board as a supervisor and past T own Chairman, Shawano Club, Manitowoc Mutual Insurance, Chairman of the ASC, and many others.

Some of Al ' s favorite activities included watching the ra ces in Shawano, attending Hodag each year , the Shawano County Fair, and most of all, socializing with everyone around hi m. He had a way of brightening everyone ' s day and mak ing each co nversation special. Al loved to embark on new adventures and spend time with his family . He espec ially loved hi s most spe cial girls Aubrey , Claire, and Clara.

Al ' s infectio us smile and laugh was always at the Bonduel sporting events. His passion for lending a hand and helpin g other s succeed was evident with his involvement i n the football and wrestling programs. Most of all, Al was proud of his boys. They were the light of his world and he always was proud of what the y ac complished. He c heered them on from the sidelines in everything they did.

Al is survived by: his four so ns, Sam (Trina) of Albe rtvill e , MN ; Ben of Pulaski ; Joey (Ka ila) of 29 Palms, CA ; and Dan (special friend, Deanna Zernicke) of Bonduel; one g randd aughter, Clara; his parents, Herbert and Marlys; his siblings, Gary of Bonduel ; Debra White of FL ; Marie (Eric ) Blechman of FL ; Dennis (Kim) of IN ; Teresa (Brian) Gutenberg of Onalaska ; Stephen (Jill) of Bonduel ; Gregory of Bonduel ; Catherine (Klaus) Uedel hofen of Germany ; and Jeff rey (M i chell e ) of IL .  He is further survived by his best friend, Cindy Nolan , her children, Ashley (Jesse) Hall of S uamico , and Trent of Shawano , as well as her grandchildren A ubrey and Claire . Al is also surv ived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Alan James, Jr.

Funeral services for Al an will be held at 2:30 pm on Monday, December 10, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with Fr. Tom Farrell officiating.  Buri al will be in the St. Martin C hurch C emetery.  Visitation will be held at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Ce cil o n Sunday , December 9, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm and again at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Monday from 1:00 p m until the time of the se rvice.  A parish wake service will be held on Sunday at St. Martin's at 7:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Bonduel High School Wrestling and Football programs.  Swedberg Funeral Home is assistin g the family with the arrangements.

Al was known by everyone who met hi m as someone who brought joy and happines s to those surrou nding him. Rather than grieving his loss, his family asks that you share and remember all of the happiness Al brought to your lif e.
