Albert H. Spiegel, age 99, of Shawano, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2016.
He was born on May 2, 1917 in Tigerton, the son of Albert and Anna (Fuhrman) Spiegel.
He graduated from Tigerton High School and Green Bay Business College.
He was employed by Morning Glory Dairy Foods beginning in 1936 and retired in 1982 as Treasurer of that company.
On October 18, 1941, while in the service of his country, he married Ebba Winther and they became the parents of three children.
Albert was in the Army during World War II and served for three and a half years in the European Theater of Operations attaining the rank of Master Sergeant.
He was honorably discharged in October 1945.
He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano and served on the Fiance Committee and Board of Trustees for a number of years.
He was a fifty year member of the American Legion and served as Commander for one year.
He was a member of the Packerland Chapter of National Association of Accountants and served as president for one year.
Survivors include two daughters, Penelope (Sheldon) Larsen of Green Bay, Juliann McBride of Boise, Idaho; one son, James (Lynn) Spiegel of Shawano; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Also one sister Frances Shest of Tigerton; and one sister-in-law, Dora Spiegel of Tigerton.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ebba; his parents; two brothers, Arthur and Harvey; and one sister, Ella who died in infancy; and one son-in-law, Lon McBride .
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 21, 2016 at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano with Rev. Ted Andrada officiating.
Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will at the church from 9:30 am until the time of the service.
A memorial fund for St. James Lutheran Church has been established.
Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.
