Albert A. Voelz, Jr., age 79 of Tigerton, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014. Born on January 20, 1935 on his family dairy farm, he was the son of the late Albert E. and Amanda (Reinke) Voelz, Sr. Albert graduated from Bowler High School and later went on to technical school in Wausau where he earned his Associates degree in drafting. He farmed on the home farm and also worked at Graphic Services in Wausau as a draftsman. Albert was united in marriage to Dorothy Arneson who preceded him in death in 1966. Lucky enough to find love again, Albert was united in marriage on January 30, 1981 to Rhonda Suehring. Known by his friends as "Nookie" and later as "Pa", he was an excellent wood builder, and made many things with wood. More than anything, he also loved spending time with his family. Albert is survived by: his wife, Rhonda Voelz of Tigerton; his children, Charlene Eastman, Carolyn (Steve Paiser) Voelz, Shirley Voelz, Jacqueline (Steve) Beyer, Leroy (Sherry) Voelz, James (Theresa) Voelz, Amanda (Andy) Mussehl and Jason (Nicole) Voelz; his step-children, Michele (Dan) Appelbaum, Jeff (Pam) Suehring, Scott (Dottie) Suehring, Melissa (Mike) Kohn; 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way. He is further survived by his sister Myrtle James and many nieces and nephews. Albert is preceded death by: his first wife, Dorothy Voelz; his parents, Albert E. and Amanda Voelz; his sisters and brothers, Grace Sabatke and her husband Elmer, Ruth Ashenbrenner and her 1st husband Gabe and 2nd husband Alfred Kuhn , Marvin Voelz and his wife Norma and LeRoy Voelz in infancy. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00-8:00 p.m., on Monday, September 15, 2014 and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Tilleda.
