Alberta Hatmaker, age 71, of Neopit passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in Neopit. Alberta was born on July 10, 1946 in Keshena, the daughter of the late Harry and Lavina (Nahwahquaw) Shawano. She enjoyed traveling to visit her family, playing bingo at the casino and she loved her cat "Tumor". Alberta was a beautiful, kind, sweet, and loving woman who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Alberta is survived by: her sons, Scott (Nakita Barker) Poler of Crandon and Kenny Galvan of Rhinelander; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Quentin Shawano, Gwendolyn Shawano, Gary "Jaymo" (Tracy) Shawano, Verna (Dan) Reiter, Linette Shawano, Jerilyn "Bedo" (Manzi) Waupoose and Tina Shawano. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by three children, Kenny "Yoze" Thunder, Joni Thunder and James "Duke" Thunder and her parents.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Menominee Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Zoar with Rev. Micah Shin officiation. Visitation will be held at the church beginning Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 5:00 pm until the time of the service on Saturday.
