Alexander Joseph "Alex" Waupoose III, age 63, passed away on Monday June 17, 2024, in Shawano. Alex was born on July 5, 1960, in Keshena to the late Alexander and Clara (Tucker) Waupoose, Jr. He spent his younger years on the Reservation then moved to Kansasville, Wisconsin. Alex graduated from Union Grove High School in 1978 and enlisted into the United States Marines. He moved back to Kansasville and lived in the Racine area from 1962-1995. He was a devoted Packer, Brewer, Badger and Bucks fan. In his free time, Alex enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, playing volleyball, softball, golf and going to concerts. He was proud of his Native American Heritage and was always willing to educate others and attending powwows. Alex was a proud father, grandfather, brother, and uncle; he will be dearly missed.

Alex is survived by his sons, Alan (Lauren) Waupoose and Alexander Waupoose Ⅳ; granddaughters, Madison and Makenna; brothers, Stuart (Kathy) Waupoose, Richard (Marylin) Waupoose and Wade (Shelly) Waupoose; and Michelle's daughter and granddaughter that he held very close to his heart, Rochelle and Olivia. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Alex is preceded in death by his sister, Kay Waupoose; a niece; a great-nephew; significant other, Michelle Micik; and parents, Alex, Jr., and Clara.

The rosary will be prayed at 6:00pm Friday June 21, 2024 at Neopit Community Center.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday June 22, 2024, at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Keshena with Fr. Hanz Christian officiating. Burial will be held at St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Neopit Community Center starting on Thursday June 20, 2024, at 3:00 pm and continuing until the time of procession to St. Michaels Catholic Church.
