Alfred Duane Gristeau, Sr., age 46 of Keshena, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018 in Appleton. Born on April 7, 1972 in Shawano, he is the son of Jean (Lyons) Hesse and the late Duane 'Mokie' Gristeau.  Alfred owned and operated Al's Tree Service in Keshena and he loved being in the woods.  He could climb any tree and he could fix just about anything, he would give the shirt off his back to help his family or friends.  Al was also a talented artist and enjoyed drawing, painting, and woodworking.  His jokes and contagious laughter will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by: his children, Rose, Alfred, Jr. and Russell all of Kenosha;  his mother, Jean Hesse; four grandchildren, Bryant, Viviana, Eliyana, and Jayce; his significant other, Erin Martin and children; five sisters, Patsy Hesse, Vicki (Tony) Wilber, Diana White, Andrea (Herman) Fish, Peggy Gristeau; two brothers, Donovan (Pam) Hesse and Les Gristeau; the mother of his children, Michelle (Matchopatow) Gristeau; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and many friends.

Alfred is preceded in death by his father, Duane "Mokie" and his brother, Joseph.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Keshena with Fr. Joel Jores officiating. Visitation will be held at the Jean Hesse residence, W2845 Rabbit Ridge Rd in Keshena, beginning at 12:00 noon on Monday until the procession leaves for the church on Wednesday.  A parish wake service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
