IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alice Rose
Eggert
February 4, 1928 – October 22, 2024
Alice Rose Eggert, age 96, of Shawano, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, in Bonduel. Alice was born in the Town of Belle Plaine on February 4, 1928, daughter of the late Adolph and Rose (Meisner) Jeske. She was baptized on May 26, 1928, by Rev. Walter List in her family's home and confirmed her Christian faith on July 27, 1941, at Zion Lutheran Church in Embarrass. Her Confirmation verse was Psalm 26:8, "Lord, I love the habitation of Your house, and the place where Your glory dwells." She attended Riverbank School in Belle Plaine and also Shawano High school, graduating in 1946. She was united in marriage to Vendor Eggert on October 20, 1951, also at Zion Lutheran Church in Embarrass. They lived on the Eggert farm in the Town of Richmond, gratefully raising their children in the Lutheran faith and working the farm together. Alice felt blessed in her roles as wife, mother, and grandmother, working hard to provide for her family from the labors of her hands. She enjoyed visiting with relatives, working tirelessly in her gardens, sewing, embroidering, and fishing for mullets in the spring. Alice will be lovingly remembered for her unwavering faith in Christ, fervent prayer, tough and tender personality, spunky demeanor, and affectionate smile. She will be dearly missed.
Alice is survived by: her children, Don (Marilee) Eggert, Tom (Diane) Eggert, Julie (Dave) Baye, Nancy (Rev. Timothy) Shoup, John (Sue) Eggert, and Sally (Rev. James) Bender; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rosemary Beaty. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Vendor; a granddaughter, Hope; her parents; and siblings, Alvina, Edwin, Sophie, Walter, Margaret, Henry, Mark, Herbert, George, and Lester.
A funeral service for Alice will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church - Stony Hill at 11:00am on Saturday, October 26, 2024, with Pastor Steve Conradt officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30am until the time of the service. The burial will be in the church cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church - Stony Hill.
Alice's family would like to extend a special thank you to Meadowview and Moments Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
