Alissa (Sanapaw) (Nacotee) Waupoose, age 35, of Keshena, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, July 14, 2026, in Keshena. She was born on November 12, 1990, in Shawano, to Kerry Nacotee and was raised by the late Leroy Sanapaw, Sr. Alissa was a wonderful mom, daughter, sister, and auntie who loved her family deeply. She adored her nieces and nephews and cherished every chance to spend time with them. Alissa had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh and joke around, always wanting everyone to feel welcome and comfortable. She was kind, forgiving, and caring, and always hoped those around her could get along. She missed her dad dearly throughout her life and found joy in spending time outdoors, swimming, and making memories with her family. Alissa always made sure to live her life to the fullest.
Alissa is survived by her children, Amilli Nacotee and Kamilla Nacotee; mother, Kerry Nacotee; aunties, Kelly Nacotee, Kacey Nacotee and Sharon Nacotee; grandmother, Jane Nacotee; and siblings, Marcella (Duane Waupoose) Sanapaw, Leroy (Drew Smith) Sanapaw, Mariah (Dale House) Sanapaw, Michael Peters III, Derek Waupoose, Dustin Waupoose, Dante (Isabella) Waupoose, Martin Pamonicutt, Duane Waupoose, Merissa Lyons and Joseph (Trey Anne) Nacotee. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Alissa is preceded in death by her father who raised her, Leroy Sanapaw, Sr.; father, Duane Waupoos, Sr.; grandparents, Michael Peters, Sr., Joseph Sanapaw and Evanell Sanapaw; and auntie, Kim Nacotee.
A traditional service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Joey Sanapaw Residence, N1126 State Hwy 47 Keshena, WI 54135. Visitation will be held at the residence starting on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 1:00 pm until the time of service on Saturday.
