Allen J. Hokenstad, Sr., age 74 of Clintonville, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012. Born on June 18, 1938, he was the son of the late Clifford Hokenstad and Jane (Montour) Vanderwalker. In November 1961 Allen enlisted with the United States Army and served his county for two years during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge from service, Allen returned to this area where he worked at 4WD in Clintonville. On June 4, 1980 he was united in marriage to Karen Rebholz in Shawano. She preceded him in death on June 18, 2007. In his free time, Allen enjoyed spending time at his cottage and fishing. Allen is survive by: 3 sons, Allen (Tiffany) Hokenstad, Jr., Duane (Wanda) Hokenstad and Tracy (Andrea) Hokenstad all of Shawano; a daughter, Candy (Richie) Worden of IN; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; and 11 siblings, Mary Ellen Williams of Erma, Shirley Grosskreutz of Shawano, Barbara Hokenstad of Appleton, Bill Hokenstad of Mercer, Richard Hokenstad of Appleton, Kathy Haffman of DePere, Byron Vanderwalker of Crandon, Sharon Vanderwalker of Goodman, Judy Lesmiller of Suamico, Doug Vanderwalker of Green Bay and Gary Vanderwalker of SD. Allen was preceded in death by: his parents; and a sister, Janet Koscher. A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Angelica United Methodist Church with the Rev. Loretta Waegli officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Shawano American Legion Post #117 at the church following the service.
