Obituary

Allen Sievert, age 74, of Pulaski formerly of Bonduel, passed away as he slept on Monday, April 10, 2017 surrounded by his wife and sons. Allen was born June 22, 1942 in Shawano, son of the late Harold H. and Katherine (Siedler) Sievert.  Allen attended Bonduel Community Schools graduating in May of 1960.  He then earned an Associate's Degree from NWTC.  On September 28, 1963 Allen was united in marriage to Mardelle Sobiesczyk in Pulaski.  Together the couple farmed in the Town of Hartland and the Town of Angelica until 2016.  A strong believer in using one's God given talents to the fullest, Allen farmed all his life emphasizing animal husbandry and soil stewardship while opening his farm to visitors from around the world.  He was recognized as Outstanding Young Farmer, Wisconsin Master Agriculturist, Honorary FFA Alumni member, Outstanding Dairy Leader, and a Century Farmer.  Allen was a member of the Hartland-Bonduel Fire Department for 34 years, serving as Captain for many of those years.  He was a member of the Shawano County Holstein Association, a 4-H Dairy leader for 28 years, a member of the Bonduel FFA Alumni, the Bonduel Booster Club, and the Board of Directors for 21st Century Genetics/CRI for 13 years.  Allen was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who always had his priorities in order, he will be deeply missed.
Allen is survived by: his wife of nearly 54 years, Mardelle; his sons, Steven (Phil) of Madison, Daniel (Carrie) of Bonduel, Richard of Wauwatosa, and Randall (Sara) of DePere; grandchildren, Alex, KatieAnn, Rose, Isaac, and a fifth on the way. He is further survived by: sisters, June Kirchenwitz of Zachow, Arlene Stilp of Texas, Mary Kirk of Appleton, and Joyce (Omar) Seely of Navarino; a Godchild Linda Justin of LaCrosse; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including close friends, Dan and Diane Schnell and their daughters, Ashley, Breanna, and Cierra.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Betty, a brother Rodney in infancy, mother-in -law and father-in-law, Irene and Fred Sobiesczyk, and brothers-in-law, Roger Kirchenwitz, Gaylord Beresford, Harold Kirk, Tony Stilp, and Leonard Sigl.
A funeral service for Allen will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the Assumption BVM Catholic Church in Pulaski with Rev. Patrick Gawrylewski, O.F.M. officiating. Visitation will be held at Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel on Monday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and again at the church on Tuesday from 10:00am until the time of the service.  A parish wake service will be held at 7:30 pm on Monday, April 17. 2017 at Swedberg Wendt Funeral Home.
