Obituary

Alvin Eugene Bishop, age 78 of Pella passed away Monday November 21, 2011 at a local nursing home. Alvin was born on May 31, 1933 in the Town of Lessor, the son of the late Arthur and Bonita (Pedersen) Bishop. On April 27, 1957 he married the former Barbara Behm in Weyauwega, WI. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Alvin was a milk hauler for Morning Glory Dairy, retiring in 1988. He also worked for Wicks Lumber in Appleton and WilKill Pest Control after retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards with family and friends and spending time with his family. He was a voracious reader and would read entire novels in a very short period of time. Alvin is survived by his wife Barbara; daughters Lori J. Bishop of Appleton and Carolyn Bishop of Appleton and a son Jay (Julie) Bishop of Pella and a grandson Lee of Pella. He is further survived by the following siblings: Arthur (Josette) Bishop of IN; Marion (Walter) Finley of MI; Harold (Cora Lee) of TX; Glenn (Betty) of MN; Kenneth Bishop of Appleton; Diane (Gary) Rosploch of Milwaukee; Judy Bishop of Appleton; Orlyn Bishop of Appleton and Reid (JoAnn) Bishop of Shawano and a special friend of the family, Timothy Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Mitchell Jay Bishop and sisters Gloria Mayer and Ruth Jenson and a brother Peter Bishop. Memorial services will be at held 11AM Friday November 25, 2011 at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 530 W. Parkway Blvd., Appleton with Rev. Mark Henke officiating. Family and friends may call at the church after 10:30AM Friday until the time of services.
