Alvin Adolf Heinrich Wesenberg, age 87 of Bonduel, was called to his heavenly home on June 20, 2013. He was born on November 30, 1925 to the late Gustav and Olga (Ratz) Wesenberg at their home in Gillett. Alvin married June Bartels on October 8, 1949 at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Green Valley. The couple farmed in Advance and then in the Town of Washington for many years. They retired to Bonduel in 1984. Alvin enjoyed dancing with June and playing cards. Even last week, Grandpa played a winning hand. He attended countless basketball, volleyball, softball, baseball and football games, watching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He always had a story to share and a joke to tell. Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, Papa2 and Al will be sadly missed by many and loved forever. Alvin is survived by: his 5 daughters, Jackie (Randy) Radloff, Barbara Swiecichowski, Judy (Michael) Wallace, Joy (Donald) Gruenewald, Janet (Stanley) Marohl; his 2 sons, Jerry, Jon (Dawn); his 16 grandchildren, Neil Klosterman, Jill (Scott) Schreiner, Kaitlyn (Jeremy) Lee, Samantha Swiecichowski, Savanah (Matthew) Ovans, Jason (Jill) Wesenberg, Cheri (Alan) Weier, Alexandra (Christopher Nolan) Wallace, Michaela Wallace, Derek, Janell and Deedra Wesenberg, Andrea (Michael) Borsche, Eric Gruenewald, Mackenzie (Tyler) Moesch, Maggie Marohl; and 13 great-grandchildren, Delainey and Leah Schreiner, Lexi Lee, Micah Ovans, Quinn, Casey and Kollins Wesenberg, Noah, Audrey and Jack Weier, Baby Boy Borsche and Carter and Will Moesch. Alvin is further survived by: his brother Ervin (Vera) Wesenberg; a sister, Eleanor Schoenherr; and 2 brothers-in-law, Donald (Margot) Bartels and Marlyn (Helen) Bartels. Alvin was preceded in death by: his beloved wife, June on December 25, 2004; his parents and stepfather, Edward Moser; his brother, Bernard; and brother and sisters-in-law, Douglas and Jewel Bartels and Ore Lea Bartels. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, June 24, 2013 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with the Rev. Timothy Shoup officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 4:00-8:00pm and on Monday from 10:00am until the time of the service. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family asks that donations be made in Alvin's name to the St. Paul Lutheran School in Bonduel and to the American Cancer Society in memory of June.
