Alvin "Chico" Carl Mazemke, age 85 of Shawano, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022.  He was born on November 13, 1936, to the late Henry and Ella (Yeager) Mazemke in Waupaca.  Alvin proudly served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1958.  On September 27, 1958, Alvin was united in marriage to Patricia Melhorn at St. Paul Lutheran Church Stony Hill.  He worked in the maintenance department as a boiler operator for a paper mill. Alvin bought a lot of lottery tickets over the years and waited for his chance to win big. He enjoyed playing cribbage, softball and fishing whenever he had the chance. Although not an expert, he did his best at bowling. Alvin has gone to heaven to meet his beloved pets: dogs, Chester, Bear and Izzy; and cat, Sylvester.

Alvin is survived by: his wife, Patricia; children, Debra (Eric) Stodall, Cindy Lech, and Mark (Julie) Mazemke; grandchildren, Casey (Nate) Bartz, Jesse (Emily) Stodall, Alex Lech, Hanna Lech, Mackenzi (Alex) White, Jordan (Jacob) Coe, and Mitchell (Kelsey) Mazemke,; great-grandchildren, Trenton, Levi, Eli, Charlotte, Jameson, Jade, Violet, and Colson; sisters, Emily Werbelow and Alice Beimborn; and sister-in-law, Jane Mehlhorn.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Raymond (Delilah) Mazemke; and brothers-in-law, LaVellen Melhorn, Wayne (Ruth) Matz, David Werbelow and Bill Beimborn.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano with Rev. Brett Matz officiating. Burial will be at Friendship Cemetery, Belle Plaine following the service. Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm at the church until the time of service.
