Amber Claire Johnson, age 76, passed away on September 28, 2024, following a serious illness. Amber was born on February 17, 1948, in Shawano, Wisconsin to the late Roy Peterson, Sr. and Louise Waukechon in Keshena, Wisconsin.
Amber grew up in Neopit, Wisconsin and attended Shawano High School. On August 16, 1967, Amber was united in marriage to her husband, Kenneth "Romy" Johnson. Amber was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit, Wisconsin.
Amber is survived by her husband Kenneth "Romy" Johnson, her sister Annette LaTender, Sister in laws, Bonnie, Tina Garcia, Carmen Cervantes, and Gina Sobel. Brother in Laws: Bobby Garcia and John Newton. Her children: Kenneth III (Annmarie), Eva (Joe), and Scott (Sandy). Her Grandchildren: Kenneth IV (Joyce), Jordan (Shawn), Jay (Evelyn), Jasmine (Robert), Scott Alan, Stephen (Anna), Jared (Alexis), Tynea (Ezra), Rainier (Maria), Walker (Deborah), and Tomas (Brianne). Great Grandchildren: Jayden, Gracee, Jordan Jr., Skye, Swede, Freya, Keith, Raeanne, BriAnne, Adeloa, Jerrick, Hayes, Jonah, and many cherished nieces, nephews and extended family.
Amber was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Norman Peterson, Charles Peterson, Roy Peterson Jr., Lyle Tucker Sr., Sisters, Alice Newton, Rita Connahvichnah, Evelyn Peterson, Lucille Surprise. Mother-in-law, Anne Garcia, Father-in-law, Kenneth J. Johnson, Sr., Sister in laws: Linda Peterson, Helen Peterson, Beverly Thomson, Babe Tucker, and Brother in laws: Donald LaTender, Roderick Connahvichnah Sr., Dennis Surprise, and her beloved children: Rose Marie, Keith, Swede Johnson and daughter in law Jerilyn Johnson.
Amber loved her husband, family and Grandchildren very dearly. She enjoyed visits with many family and friends. She was a kind, gentle, caring person. Amber formally was employed with Zwicker Sewing Mill, Maehnowesekiyah Residential Facility, and Oakhaven Assisted living in Shawano, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024, at the South Branch Community Center, W1231 County Road M, Suring, WI, 54174 after 4:00 pm.
A short prayer service will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 5:00 pm. The mass service is on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Neopit, WI, at 11:00 am with interment at South Branch Cemetery with Fr. Hanz officiating. Dinner to follow burial services at the South Branch Community Center.
