Anita "Jean" Miller Hensley was born May 5, 1959, and passed away in the afternoon on Thursday, June 6th unexpectedly in her home.

She was born in Wausau, Wisconsin but spent the majority of her life in Mesa, Arizona. Later moving to Grandview, MO to be closer to her children and grandchildren. While in Arizona she met and married the love of her life, Bruce Hensley on August 30, 1980. They would have celebrated 44 years married this year.  Later they welcomed two children Zachary and Sarah.

Anita was a loving human being who always sought to put other people before herself. Her joy in life was her faith, her family and the people in her life. Annually, she traveled with her mother from Arizona and Wisconsin to stay connected to family and her Native American heritage.

Anita was an ordained Christian minister. She served for two decades at Word of Grace church in Mesa, AZ. She was a minister with the International Turkey Network for over 30 years. An organization she published materials for, and traveled to the nation of Turkey, multiple times a year. As well as serving in Kansas City at The International House of Prayer.

Anita is survived by her mother Bernice Miller, husband Bruce Hensley, son Zack Hensley, daughter-in-law, Carrie Hensley, daughter Sarah Jackman, son-in-law, Chris Jackman and six grandchildren Natalie, Evan, Fintan, Henry, Oliver, Annabelle. She is preceded in death by her father, Myron Miller and her grandson, Lucas Jackman. She will be deeply missed today and always.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 3pm-5pm at the Longview Funeral Home, 12700 Raytown Rd, Kansas City, MO 64149. Funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 10am at 12905 S U.S. 71 Hwy, Grandview, MO 64030, Room 105. Longview Funeral Home in Kanasa City, MO is helping the family with funeral arrangements.

Burial and Graveside Service in Wisconsin at 11:00 am on Friday, June 14, 2024, in Red Springs, Wisconsin on Reservation of the Stockbridge-Munsee Community Band of Mohican Indians. Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham is helping the family with burial arrangements.
