Anita Edna
Wallace
August 17, 1935 – July 15, 2019
Anita Edna Wallace, age 83, of Shawano, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2019, at Paiser's Oakhaven in Shawano. Anita was born on August 17, 1935, in the Town of Grant, Shawano County, to the late Vern and Agnes (Brandenburg) Poppendorf. She graduated from Marion High School in 1953 and on May 18, 1957, Anita was united in marriage to Charles R. Wallace in Marion, WI. Charles preceded Anita in death on April 4, 1994, after 37 wonderful years of marriage. Anita worked for JC Penny beginning in 1972, where she was a clerk and manager of the catalog department. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Shawano where she served on the Board of Deacons and taught Sunday school. Anita was also very involved in the 4-H program in the community and had a passion for researching genealogy. She was an avid fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers and was a season ticket holder for the Packers for many years. More than anything Anita loved spending time with her beloved family.
Anita is survived by: her children, Michael (Kelly) Wallace of Milwaukee, Kathryn (Tim) Lohmiller of Shawano, Jim Wallace of Shawano, and David (Liz) Wallace of Shawano; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mava Laursen of Osseo. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her parents, Vern and Agnes, and a brother, Richard in infancy.
Funeral services for Anita will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church in Shawano with the Rev. Josh Palmer, Anita's grandson-in-law officiating. Burial will be in Roseland Cemetery in the Town of Dupont in Waupaca County. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 4:00 pm until the time of service.
Anita's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Paiser's Oakhaven for the wonderful care Anita received.
