Obituary

Annabelle F. Hyrkas, age 83, of Shawano, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015 in Shawano.  Born on March 7, 1932 in Dancy, WI, she was the daughter of the late William and Frances (Glover) Daul.  After High School she enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Korean Conflict, as a Naval Photographer.  She was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.  After she earned her honorable discharge from the Navy, she worked several different jobs before retiring from the Bonduel Pickle Factory after 25 years.  In her younger years she enjoyed traveling.  She had a love for photography, for work and as a hobby.  She also enjoyed bird watching, reading, and had a love for animals, and adored her cat Sam.

Annabelle is survived by her children Wendy (Ron Kunzer) Hyrkas, of De Pere, Rose (Lenny) Kingsley, of FL, Dan Hyrkas, of Shawano, and Jennifer Sanderson, of Green Bay; her sisters Alice (Charles) Valiska and Bernice (late Darwin) Dey.

Military Honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano.  Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home, on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the honors.  Military Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #117.  Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. www.swedbergfuneralhome.com
