Anthony "Bucky" J. Boivin, age 55 of Neopit, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018. Bucky was born in Shawano on July 2, 1963, son of Dorla J. (Wayka) Boivin and the late John L. Boivin, Sr. Bucky was employed by MITW Transit, Menominee Casino, MTE and was a caretaker for the elders. He held a GED and was certified for homecare. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Neopit Fire Department. Bucky was a special kind of outdoorsman. He liked to fish, hunt, shang or just stroll in the woods. Bucky played for Marie's Bombers Softball Team and was an excellent 3rd baseman. He was a crazy old story teller. Bucky was a special part of the large and caring family of the Boivins and Waykas. He loved his family and friends and would willingly help when he could.
Bucky is survived by: three daughters, Dorla Boivin, Toni Boivin and Melisa Boivin; 12 grandchildren; his mom, Dorla Boivin; one sister, Anna Boivin of Green Bay; brothers, John L. (Deanna) Boivin, Jr. of Neopit, William Boivin of Neopit, Raphael Boivin, Sr. of Keshena, Dale (Nancy) Boivin of Bowler, Curtis A. Boivin of Neopit, Kevin L. Boivin of Neopit and Wendell Boivin of Neopit. He is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends, Puffer Smith, Andy Welch, Tony Teller and Jolene Wayka.
He was preceded in death by: grandson, Tony Menore; his dad, John L. Boivin, Sr.; grandparents, Ernest and Marie Wayka and Joe and Anna Boivin; sister, Candice Boivin, and brother, John L. Boivin, III.
Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit with Fr. Joel Jores officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Dorla Boivin residence, W6506 Wild Rice Ct. in Neopit beginning at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 until the procession leaves for the church. A wake service will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
