Arlene R. Grunewald, age 97 of Bonduel, passed away in Green Bay on Thursday, December 27, 2018.  She was born in the Town of Waukechon on November 26, 1921, to the late John and Ella (Lund) Peterson.  On September 5, 1941, in Pulaski, Arlene was united in marriage to Curtis Grunewald, who preceded her in death on November 30, 1990.  She was a bookkeeper for Curtis Grunewald Excavating in Bonduel for many years.  Arlene enjoyed cooking and flower gardening.  She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano and was very active with the Bonduel Archives and Bonduel Woman's Club.

Arlene is survived by:  her children, James (Ione) of Bonduel, Jan (Dick) Hodges of Washington; her grandchildren, Curtis of Bonduel, Kimberlee Carlson of Shawano and Jeffrey (special friend, Karrie) of Bonduel; great-grandchildren, Whitnee, Kelsee (special friend, Marcus) and Weslee; great great- grandchildren, Makai and Kya.  She is further survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis; her parents, John and Ella; grandson-in-law, Gordon Carlson; two brothers, Eugene and Roland Peterson; three sisters, Margaret Duncan, Joyce Johnson and June Leipold.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 31, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with Rev. Mark Palmer officiating.  Burial will be in Jerusalem Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the church on Monday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.  Swedberg Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
