Arlene Ruechel, age 90, of Pulaski, passed away on September 7th, 2015 in Green Bay with her husband and family by her side. Arlene was born on December 9, 1924 to the late Ben and Gertrude (Zuleger) Moes in Appleton. On July 19, 1945 Arlene was united in marriage to Raymond Ruechel at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cicero. The couple lived and farmed together for 70 years. Arlene worked hard her whole life and instilled the value of hard work in her four children, who were her pride and joy. She was a master tailor and she learned the sewing trade from a German tailor when she was only 17 years old. She did alterations of all types at a number of different businesses until she was 70 years old. Her sewing continued at home until a few months ago. She took great pride in her work and was proud to have taught her daughters to sew as well. She was also an active sewing leader for 4-H for many years. She enjoyed cooking meals from scratch as well as canning the produce she grew in the garden. In her free time Arlene enjoyed playing cards with friends and traveling. The most important thing in her life was her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She always looked forward to visits from her grandchildren. The knowledge she shared with her children helped make them all strong, caring individuals and they will hold her love in their hearts forever. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Arlene is survived by: her husband of over 70 years, Ray; her children, Darrel (JoAnn) Ruechel of Appleton, Bonnie (Don) Shepard of Pulaski, Rosemarie (Rodney) Busch of Oshkosh, and Geraldine (Doug) Druckrey of Bonduel; 13 grandchildren, Linda (Bob) Slaby, Debby (Steve) Manske, Rhonda (Dan) Prill, Alan Ruechel, Scott (Theresa) Shepard, Sheila (John) Fassbender, Julie (Greg) Stoltenow, Mark (Karisa) Shepard, Amanda (Travis) Bricco, Gregory (Nina) Busch, Matthew (Andrene) Busch, Jeff Druckrey, and Laura (Brian) Witz; 25 great grandchildren; a sister, Judy (Kenneth) Olsen of Seymour, and two sisters-in-law, Virginia Moes and Carol Moes.
