Arthur Charles Chapman, age 85 of Keshena, passed away Monday, September 24, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 24, 1927 in Keshena, he was the son of the late Josephine (Duquain) Dodge. In 1944 Arthur enlisted with the United States Navy and served his country for three years during World War II. After his honorable discharge from service, Arthur went to work at the Menominee Tribal Enterprise and continued working there for the next 68 years. On July 21, 1951 he was united in marriage to Lucille Beauprey in Keshena. She preceded him in death on October 24, 1999. Arthur was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Keshena. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, playing cards, spending time at Bass Lake and especially enjoyed spending time with his beloved grandchildren. Arthur was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and loved to watch them play. Arthur is survived by: his 6 children, Patricia Chapman of NC, Larry (Annette) Chapman, Jerry (Pat) Chapman, Michael Chapman, Carrie (Wayne) Peters, Jr. and Barbara (Louis) Kakwitch all of Keshena; 14 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by: 4 siblings, Dick (Sylvia) Dodge, Dempsey Dodge, Faye (Anthony) Waupochick, Kathy (Jim) Kaquatosh; 4 step siblings, Carol Dodge, Sid Dodge, Glenda Tahmahkera, Connie Goetz; 2 brothers-in-law, LeRoy Beauprey, Lee White, Sr.; his special friend, Pet K. Martin; and his "second family", the Reiters. Arthur was preceded in death by: his loving wife, Lucille; a son, Paul Richmond; his mother; a brother, Roger Dodge; and 3 sisters, Sandy King, Gwen Washinawatok and Mary Dodge in infancy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, September 28, 2012 at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Keshena with the Rev. Robert Rank officiating. In honor of Arthur's passion, the family asks that you wear your Packer attire to the funeral service. Military Rites will be conducted by the Menominee American Legion Post #497 and the Veterans of the Menominee Nation at the church following the service. Visitation will be held at the Father David Barrett Hall in Keshena from noon on Wednesday until the time of the service on Friday. A Parish Wake Service will be held on Thursday at 7pm.
