Audrey A. Hooyman, age 90, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022, in Shawano. Audrey was born in Greenville, Wisconsin on August 27, 1932, to the late Howard and Winona (Jennerjohn) Becker. Audrey was a graduate of Hortonville High School. On June 14, 1951, she was united in marriage to Ronald Hooyman in Appleton. Ron and Audrey enjoyed over 66 years of marriage together before Ronald preceded her in death in 2017. Audrey was a kind and fair woman with a strong will. Her heart was overflowing with love for her family and her Lord. Her faith was very important to her, and she loved attending church services. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she loved having the whole family together. Audrey loved nature and enjoyed being outdoors. She enjoyed walleye fishing with Ron and taking her dogs for walks. Audrey was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by the family she leaves behind.
Audrey is survived by her children: Rhonda (Gary Buntrock) VanHandel, Cindy (Pete) Fannin, and Becky (John) Gruetzmacher; grandchildren, Scot (Char) VanHandel, Jamie (Kelby) Kriewaldt, Joe (Lisa) VanHandel, Brian (Torre) Ziegler, Andrew (Kristin) Ziegler, Laura (Jeremy Bartelt) Ziegler, Ann (Dan) Bartelt, Amanda (Chad) LaFever, Joshua (Cory-Lei) Fischer, Shane (Jessica) Hooyman, Tricia Fannin, Melissa (Brent Hanifl) Fannin, Luke (Amber) Fannin and Paul (Allison) Fannin; 33 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandsons; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou (Gene) Hegner; and a brother-in-law, Len (Loretta) Bellile. Audrey is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; son, John Hooyman; her parents; brother and sister, Mary Bellile and Ronald Becker; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Helen and Lyle Austreng, Gladys and Robert Ebben, James and Birdie Hooyman and Robert Hooyman.
A memorial service for Audrey will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clintonville with Pastor Caleb Rothfuss officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of service. Inurnment will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Greenville at a later date.
The family of Audrey would like to extend a special thank to the staff at Evergreen Health Service for her wonderful care. The family would also like to thank Heartland Hospice, especially Nicki, Tanya, and Chaplin William for their exceptional care.
