Audrey Alice (nee Malueg) Koukari, age 79 of the Town of Wescott, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her loving family and dear friends. Born on April 4, 1934 in Clintonville, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Beatrice (McKay) Malueg. She grew up in Clintonville and graduated from Clintonville High School in 1952. On May 10, 1954 she was united in marriage to Raymond Koukari in Dubuque, Iowa. The couple resided in Milwaukee and Florida before returning to Shawano in 1989. Audrey was a member of the Shawano United Methodist Church where she was active in all offices including the U.M.W. and the Mary Circle. She was also a member of the Shawano Lake Lions. Audrey's greatest passions were sewing, gardening, and crafts. She was also passionate about teaching Sunday school and being involved with the PTA. She was a wonderful cook and a better baker. She especially enjoyed baking each year for the Shawano Cookie Walk. Audrey is survived by: her loving and devoted husband, Raymond; their 4 children, Susan (Mark) Tesch of Friesland, Raymond (Linda Naegeli) Koukari, Jr. of Racine, Steven (Pamela Krueger) Koukari of Shawano, Ann E. (Jeffrey) Hogg of Naples, FL; her 9 loving grandchildren, Jeremy, Michelle, Shane, Ray III, Kassia, Stephanie, Kyle, Matthew, Jonathan; 8 great-grandchildren; a brother, James (Dorothy) Malueg of Plymouth; a sister, Karen Layden of Milwaukee; sisters-in-law, Ruth Marcello of Shawano, Darlene Malueg of Neenah; her special aunt, Blanche (nee McKay) Lamkins of Ogdensburg; and many nieces and nephews. Audrey is also survived by: her dearest and closest friends; and all of her sisters of the Mary Circle and church family which are too many to mention and all with whom she loved so dearly. Audrey was preceded in death by: her parents; 2 sisters, Virginia Meyers, Dorothy Kotlarz; and 2 brothers, Robert and Gary Malueg. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Shawano United Methodist Church with the Rev. Allen Christensen officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a special fund has been established for a memorial garden to be planted at the "Church on the Hill," Shawano United Methodist Church.
