"Junior" Buhrandt
November 1, 1935 – April 21, 2021
August Leo "Junior" Buhrandt, age 85 of Cecil, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021. Junior was born on November 1, 1935 to the late Ernest and Lydia (Pfeiffer) Buhrandt in Suring. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. On June 30, 1962 Junior was united in marriage to Joy L. Dumke at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bowler. They were members of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Town of Washington. Junior and Joy enjoyed spending time at their cottage on Crane Lake. They retired to the Cecil area and enjoyed spending time on Shawano Lake. Junior was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Junior will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Junior is survived by his wife, Joy; children, Cheryl Maggi-Novak of Sister Bay and Tim (Sara) Buhrandt of Suamico; grandchildren, Nicole (Patrick) Mares, Olivia (Buck) Pozywak, Kyle Buhrandt, Lexie Buhrandt, and Jordan Novak; great-grandchildren, Fintan and Maya; one brother, Ray Buhrandt; and three sisters, Pat Jossie, Nancy Jossie, and Alice Jaeger. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his son, Randy Buhrandt; parents, Ernest and Lydia Buhrandt; and siblings, Wallace Buhrandt, Donald Buhrandt, Norman Buhrandt, Lawrence Buhrandt, Doris Mueller, Alvin Buhrandt, and Carol Thompson.
A memorial service for Junior will be held at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in the Town of Washington with Rev. Steven Pockat officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the church from 1:00 pm until the time of service.
