Baeda Ashenbrenner, was called to her heavenly home, just four days after her 102nd birthday on Monday, October 3rd at Evergreen Health Services in Shawano. Baeda was born September 29, 1920, in the town of Morris, Shawano County, to Louis and Elizabeth (Jolin) Salzman. Baeda graduated from Tigerton High School in June of 1939.  She was united in marriage to James Ashenbrenner, on June 26th, 1948 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Tigerton.  Baeda and Jim remained devout Catholics their entire lives and remained members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church until their passings. Jim passed March 20th, 2002.

Even though Baeda and Jim were not blessed with children of their own, they were asked by many other parents to be godparents to their children for whom they were a source of love and support. Baeda and Jim managed Shawano County Park for 29 years, where many campers returned yearly to enjoy their hospitality.  Family loved to visit them to enjoy the park and lake and the kids loved being spoiled by money for candy from Jim or treats and chocolate milk from Baeda.

Survivors include many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, many other relatives and friends.

Including Jim, Baeda was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters, Leora as an infant, Ruth Milanowski, Myrtle Menge, Ethel Ashenbrenner, Florence Redman, and Loretta Salzman and four brothers, Merlin, Marvin, Clarence, and Floyd Salzman.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Scott Valeltyn officiating. Visitation will be held at 9:30 am until the time of service at the church on Saturday. Entombment will be at Sacred Heart Mausoleum following the service.
