Barbara Joan Kabat, age 84, passed away on Tuesday January 14, 2025, in Shawano. Barbara was born on September 21, 1940, in Manitowoc to the late Albert and Sophie (Hartl) Schipper. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc. On August 13, 1960, Barbara was united in marriage to Leon Kabat in Manitowoc. The couple spent a wonderful 63 years together before Leon's passing in 2024. She spent six years in Oregon, California for 12 years, then Virgina for four years, later to Shawano to build their retirement home. Barabara enjoyed being a homemaker, doing yardwork, puzzles and watching the birds, Halmark movies and sports especially the Packers.

Barbara is survived by her children, Dan (Jackie) Kabat and Nancy (Dan) Hanyzewski; two grandchildren, Tucker (Bridget) and Jenna (Dan) Birtwell; five great grandchildren; Aidan, Quinn, Grace, Skye and Sonny and two step grandchildren, Nathan (Plami) Hanyzewski and Tyler Hanyzewski and one step great grandchild; Natalie.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Leon; and parents, Albert and Sophie.
