Barbara E. "Barb” Lindner age 86, of Shawano, passed away on Thursday April 2, 2026. Barb was born on February 6, 1940, in Milwaukee to the late Walter and Gwendolyn (Ripley) Ahnert. She graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran High School in 1958. On July 11, 1959, Barb was united in marriage to Gordon A. “Gordy” Lindner in Elm Grove. The couple spent 44 years together before Gordy’s passing in 2004. After marriage, Gordy and Barb farmed, Lindner’s Northern Aire, on Broadway in the Town of Richmond. While farming and raising a family, Barb also worked at Montgomery Ward, then at Shawano High School as a teacher’s aide from 1970 until 1974. After working as an aid, she went to work at Vlasic Pickle Factory in Bonduel and then Prange Way. Barb graduated from the College of Menominee Nation in 1997 with a degree in Human Resources and worked for Menominee County in the Human Services Department. Barb was extremely artistic and enjoyed jewelry making, ceramics, basketry, painting, and shorthand and calligraphy writing. Barb also loved listening to music and tending to her flower garden. She was a Wolf River 4-H leader for several years. Barb was an active member of St. Jakobi Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. Her faith, her country and her family were always the most important things in her life. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed.
Barb is survived by: her children, Laura (Cory) Habeck-Price, Linda (Jim) Jaskolski, Larry (Cherrie) Lindner and Lance (Autumn) Lindner; grandchildren, Angelina (Matthew) Warta, Joshua (Crystal) Jaskolski, Brock (Lindsay) Jaskolski, Amanda (Christina) Nagle, Lee Lindner, Luke Lindner, Landon Lindner, Christian (Simone) Lindner and Keonna Lindner; great-grandchildren, Oden, Reid, Bryndle, Lydia, Briar, Max, Remi, Adrianna, Gabriella, Isabella (Jackson), Grayson, Bronson, Leo, Lukenna, Deklyn and Miasenamaekoh; a brother, James Ahnert; and her golden boys, Tigger and Sparky. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Barb is preceded in death by her husband, Gordy Lindner; siblings, Ronald Ahnert and Debbie Francis; and parents, Walter and Gwendolyn.
In accordance with Barb’s wishes private family services will be held. Inurnment will be in St. Jakobi Lutheran Cemetery. Any memorials may be directed to Joy’s Place, animal rescue, in Gresham.
