"Bea" Moede

Beatrice Sophie "Bea" Moede, age 94, passed away on Sunday November 17, 2024, in Neenah. Bea was born on January 7, 1930, in the Town of Grant to Fred and Lydia (Hass) Suehring. She graduated from Marion High School in 1948. Bea also graduated from Langlade County Normal and later received her bachelor's in education from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. She was an elementary teacher for forty years, having taught at Pella Rural, Birnamwood, Colby and Shawano.
Beatrice was united in marriage to Marshall "Mike" Moede on June 9, 1956, at St. John's Lutheran Church in the Town of Grant. The couple first resided in Unity where their son Jeffrey was born. They returned to this area in 1966 and built a home on the Embarrass River in the Town of Belle Plaine.
Beatrice was a flower enthusiast and always had a beautiful yard. She also had enjoyed dancing, golfing, playing cards, shopping, cross-country skiing and traveling. Along with Mike, she followed the Shawano Hawks, Badgers and Packers, Bea was very creative and artistic. She especially enjoyed making pillows, quilts, table runners and mats which she happily gave to family and friends. She was very stylish and always dressed appropriately. Bea loved animals especially cats and dogs.
Bea was strong in her faith and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church where she was involved in the Ladies Aid and Stephan Ministries. She also was a member of Delta Cappa Gamma and both Shawano County and Wisconsin Retired Educators Associations.
Beatrice is survived by her sister Bette Rindt; brother-in-law, James (Nancy) Moede; sister-in-law, Pat (Madonna Hill) Moede; along with cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Beatrice is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mike Moede; son, Jeffrey Moede; sisters, Leona, Gertrude, Velma, Alice and Doris; Brothers, Herbert and Kenneth; sisters and brothers-in-law, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am at St. James Lutheran Church on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 am until the time of service. Inurnment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
The family would like to thank Pastor Rhinehard for his visits, the staff at the Cottages and Memory Care for their care and compassion.
