Beatrice Edna Kurtz, age 89 of Cecil, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the Jack and Engrid Meng Residence in DePere. Born on September 17, 1923 in Aurora, St. Louis Co., MN, she was the daughter of the late Jalmer and Ida "Edna" (Tiensivu) Lehto. She later moved to Wisconsin where she met her future husband, Clayton Kurtz. The couple married on October 25, 1941 in Shawano. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1981. Beatrice enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, raising her family and taking care of the generations of cats throughout the years. She also enjoyed picnics up at Crooked Lake and Chute Pond, attending her children's school and church programs, and spending time with her grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons. Beatrice is survived by: 2 children, Ron Kurtz of the Town of Green Valley, Karen Kurtz of Kaukauna; a daughter-in-law, Bev Kurtz of Green Bay; 2 grandchildren, Ty Kurtz of Green Bay, Amy Kurtz-Simons of Janesville; and 2 great-grandsons, John and Hunter Simons of Janesville. Beatrice was preceded in death by: her husband, Clayton; a son, Ken Kurtz on April 4, 2012; and her parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel with the Rev. Loretta Waegli officiating. Burial will be at the Advance Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral Home in Bonduel on Thursday from 10am until the time of the service.
