IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Benjamin
Hiebing
November 14, 1943 – December 16, 2020
Benjamin Hiebing, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Shawano Health Services. Ben was born on November 14, 1943, on his mother's birthday, to the late Benjamin and Edna (Schuette) Hiebing in Sheboygan, WI. Ben graduated from South High School and began working at Spiller Spring Co. and retired from there 40+ years later. On June 10, 1968, Ben was united in marriage to Janet (Gabrovic) Curran in Omaha, NE. Ben always said he had one job and one wife all of his life. Ben adopted Janet's son Michael in 1972 and was a very good father to Mike. Ben was a handy soul, he could fix anything and build most things. Ben completely remodeled an old two-story house. He hauled home a 1952 Harley, all in parts and put it together himself. Ben was so proud of his Harley and drove motorcycles for many years. He was a great fan of stock car racing and hardly missed a race. If he was invited to a wedding, the races came first! Ben enjoyed deer hunting with his parents, brothers, and nephews for many years at their cabin in Carter, WI. Ben enjoyed many bus trips with friends, touring many states. He enjoyed many years of fishing on Shawano Lake with his good friend Doug. After Ben retired they moved to Shawano and he bought a pontoon boat and enjoyed many days of fishing. Ben enjoyed watching Packer games and only once attended a game. Ben and Janet attended Hope Community Church in Shawano and really enjoyed their time there. Ben really enjoyed fall trips with good friends and playing cards. He enjoyed traveling to both Florida and Arizona, making wonderful memories.
Ben will sadly be missed by his wife, Janet and son, Mike (fiancée, Dee). He is further survived by many good friends, neighbors, other family members, as well as many nieces and nephews..
Ben was preceded in death by two infant babies; his parents; a sister, Carol Mae; brothers, David and Willard; and his mother and father-in-law, Ignac and Stephie Gabrovic.
Ben always said he will have a new Harley parked behind the Mausoleum. Your new Harley is parked there for you to jump down and ride off to a better place.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Gardens of Peace Mausoleum, 6706 Superior Avenue, Kohler, WI, on January 2, 2021 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am with services to follow at 11:00 am. It is requested that you please wear masks while in attendances, thank you.
