Bernice Ann Drews, age 87, of the Town of Belle Plaine, passed away on Wednesday February 18, 2026, in Shawano. Bernice was born on May 13, 1938, in Clintonville to the late Louis and Evelyn (Rasch) Bartz. She graduated from Shawano High School. On October 29, 1960, Bernice was united in marriage to Ray Drews at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Bernice worked at the office of attorney Doug Winter for several years as well as helping on the farm and raising two sons. Bernice was a life-long, active, and faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Her family and her church were the most important part of who she was. Bernice always put others first, making sure everyone's needs were met before her own. In her younger years, she enjoyed doing needlepoint and playing bingo in her free time. Bernice was a wonderful wife, mother, and Grandma B and she will be dearly missed.
Bernice is survived by her sons, Jeff (Stacy) Drews and Tom (Amy) Drews; and granddaughter, Caitlin Drews. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Bernice is preceded in death by her husband, Ray; her parents Louis and Evelyn Bartz; her sister, Elaine Smith; as well as a sister and twin brothers in infancy.
A funeral service for Bernice will be held at 11:00 am on Monday February 23, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine with Rev. Todd Jerabek officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to the St. John Lutheran Cemetery Fund.
