Bernice Mae Schneider, age 81 of the Town of Washington, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at a local nursing home. Born on April 28, 1931 at the family home farm in the Town of Washington, she was the daughter of the late William and Erna (Bankert) Lawrenz. On February 3, 1951 she was united in marriage to Vernon H. Schneider in the Town of Washington. After marriage the couple farmed and raised their children in the Town of Washington, where Bernice would live her entire life. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in White Clay Lake. Bernice was an amazing cook and she loved to bake for all her loved ones. She also enjoyed traveling as well as snowmobiling in her younger years. Bernice is survived by: her 5 children, Faye (Richard) Cooper of Green Bay, Jack Schneider of Cecil, Lowell (Lelia) Schneider of Cecil, Beth (Matt) Stanke of Bonduel, Ellen (Terry) Shepard of Anston; 8 grandchildren, Stephanie (Tim) Laning, Katie (Scott) Guyette, Lynn (David) Pyatskowit, Laurie (Roger) Banaszynski, Daniel (Jessica) Stanke, Andrew Stanke, Jacob (Darci) Stanke, Susan Stanke; 6 great-grandchildren, Alexander and Ella Laning, Alexander, Kesaesha and Stormy Pyatskowit, Emily Guyette; 2 sisters, Gladys Berkhahn, Beatrice (Joe) Naumann; and 2 brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Arbutus) Schneider and Clarence (Barb) Schneider. Bernice was preceded in death by: her husband, Vernon on October 21, 2008; her daughter, Gail; a granddaughter, Amanda; her parents; 2 sisters, Ruth (Elmer) Luepke, Sylvia (Eddie) Berkhahn; and a brother-in-law, Harvey Berkhahn. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at White Clay Lake with the Rev. Steven Pockat officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 12:00noon until the time of the service.
