Bert "Uncle Bert" Lyons, age 73, of Keshena, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020. He was born on March 12, 1946 in Keshena to the late Ralph and Edna (Gauthier) Lyons. Bert was in United States Army while serving in Korea. On April 8, 2017 he was united in marriage to Judith "Judy" Duquain at Keshena Falls. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and worked for the Menominee county highway department and transportation as a driver until he retired. He was a member of the BABA Tree People group and loved camping, riding in the woods, Miller Lite beer, blackberry brandy, and was a Green bay Packer fan.
Bert is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Amanda Lyons-Clayton (Tyrell Perez), Sarah Boushie, Ralph "Wowie" Boivin, Bart Boivin, and Bert Olson; his grandchildren, Tatum Lyons, Jewel Lyons, Phoenix Perez, Duke Perez, James Joepeck, Onawa Penass, Blaise Olson, Calvin Olson, Montana Olson, Laliah Olson, and Dieon Boivin; his sisters, Myrna Caldwell and Bertha Steckbauer; his in-laws, Karon (Jack) Pastorski, Sharon Tourtillott, Jean Corn, Carol (Steve) Schils, Douglas Duquain, Patti Duquain, Tony Duquain, Robin Penass, Dawn King, William "Duke" (Renee) Duquain, Debra Long Lyons, and Carmie Lyons. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his son Darwin Olson Sr.; his grandson Darwin Jr.; his Lyons brothers, Robert, Gilbert, Jerry, Melvin Sr. and Ralph "Toad"; his sisters, Isabel (James "Bubzy" Sr.) Boivin, Mona (Clayton) Skenadore; his in-laws, Arnold Corn, Melvin Caldwell Sr., Renee Duquain and Matt Tourtillott.
A memorial service for Bert will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Fr. Joel Jores and Dave Grignon officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of service. Military rights will be conducted after the services by Veterans of the Menominee Nation and the Keshena American Legion.
