Betsy Lee Kroening, age 70, of Shawano, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2019. Betsy was born on February 14, 1949, in Oconto, to the late Jerome and Dorothy (Monti) Bubb. In 1989 Betsy was united in marriage to Edwin "Fritz" Kroening. Fritz preceded Betsy in death on June 29, 1996. Betsy was an established nurse in her community having worked in nursing homes in Shawano and Green Bay for several years. She enjoyed fishing, spending time with her cats and her family, especially her grandchildren. Betsy was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel.

Betsy is survived by: her children, Jon (Alicia) Kroening of Zachow, Melody (Ron) Wallenfang of DePere, and Charles Hunt; daughter-in-law, Amy Zeimer; grandchildren, Kaela, Reiley, Kaitlyn, Jaxson, Jaden, Ila, and Ryker Kroening, Josh Smet, Kennedy Hunt, and Harley Zeimer; two great-grandchildren, Paytenn and Jace; one brother, Jerry (Joyce) Bubb of Suring; she is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Fritz; her parents, Jerome and Dorothy; one son, Glenn Hunt, Jr.; one daughter, Charlotte Ranae Kroening; and one sister, Joan Winkler.

A memorial service will be held for Betsy at 1:30 pm, on Monday, August 26, 2019, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with Rev. Mark Palmer officiating. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday at the church from 12:30 pm until the time of services.
