Betty A. Dieck, age 82 of Shawano, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013. Born on February 19, 1930 in Leopolis, she was the daughter of the late James and Lena (Kadletz) Kristof. Betty grew up in the Leopolis area and was a graduate of Marion High School, class of 1948. She later worked at Edee Fashion, at Chaimson's in Shawano for 8 years, and at CRI for 8 years. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Leopolis where she was active with the Christian Mothers. Betty was an avid Leopolis Bulldogs, Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers fan. She enjoyed reaching, doing embroidery, and watching television. Betty is survived by: her son, Randal (Joyce) Dieck of West Bend; 2 grandchildren, Kathryn and James; a brother, Floyd (Veronica) Kristof of Shawano; 2 sisters, Carol and Rita both of Shawano; and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by: her son, James; her parents; a brother, Allen Kristof and a sister, Doris Nevelle. Funeral services will be held at11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 28, 2013 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Leopolis with the Rev. Patrick Lloyd officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Sunday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. and at the funeral home on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the procession leaves for the church.
