Beverly Jane Bergner, age 93, of Shawano, passed away on Wednesday February 18, 2026, in Green Bay. Beverly was born on July 29, 1932, in Shawano to the late Harry and Marie (Lomker) Malley. She was baptized and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church. Beverly graduated from Shawano High School in 1950. On August 24, 1957, Beverly was united in marriage to Elroy "Butch" Bergner at St. James Lutheran Church. The couple spent a wonderful 65 years together before Butch's passing in 2017. She worked at Gansen Dental as a dental assistant for many years before retiring. Beverly was a member of St. James Lutheran Church where she was a long-time member of Tabaitha and regularly attended bible study. She enjoyed helping serving lunch at St. James Lutheran School. Beverly loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, people at the lake and her Friday night group. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend; she will be deeply missed.
Beverly is survived by her daughters, Wendy (Curt) Retzlaff and Patti Peterman; grandchildren, Bethany Retzlaff, Craig (Danielle) Retzlaff, Jon (Alexis) Retzlaff, Melody (Jason) Bartz, Ross Peterman, Reid (Kori) Peterman and Carina Kocken; great-grandchildren, Vincent Retzlaff, Sullivan Retzlaff, Lydia Retzlaff, Calvin Retzlaff, Adeline Retzlaff, Theodore Retzlaff, Ainsley Retzlaff, Zoey Bartz, Draxton Bartz and Syrus Peterman. She is further survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and also her "lake family".
Beverly is preceded in death by her husband, Butch Bergner; sister, Edith Seyler; and parents, Harry and Marie Malley.
A funeral service for Beverly will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday February 26, 2026, at St. James Lutheran Church with Pastor Andrew Zobel officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:30 am until the time of service. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Memorial donations may be directed to St. James Lutheran Church and School.
