Beverly L. Nelson, age 71 of Shawano, formerly of Racine, died on Monday, August 25, 2014. Born on February 14, 1943 in Racine, she is the daughter of the late Orval and Lorraine (Jonas) Nelson. Following her graduation from St. Catherine's High School in 1961, Beverly continued her education at the Gateway Tech in Kenosha earning her degree in 1969. In July of 1974, she moved to the Shawano area. Beverly adored helping others which showed in her thirty-some years as an LPN in various hospitals and nursing homes, including St. Mary's and St. Luke's Hospitals located in Racine and Maple Lane Health Care Facility in Shawano. She enjoyed reading, attending auctions, and spending time outdoors, gardening and cutting wood. Beverly cherished her golden retriever, Jesse as well as her four cats, Max, Micky, Skeeter and Sissy. She is survived by and will be greatly missed by: her dear friend and beloved companion, Jane Coleman of Shawano; her sisters, Patricia (Butch) Johnson of Michigan, Sandy (William Bill') Cook of Dillon, MT, Jeanne (Jim) Whisman of Townsend, Deborah (Scott) Wycherly of Townsend and Bonnie (Bill) Henry of Elcho, WI. Beverly is further survived by her special friends, Mike and Paul and Debby and Lew Pullen and their family. Beverly is preceded in death by her parents. Private family services will be held.
