Brennan A. "B-Rabbit" Waupoose, age 30, of Neopit, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 in Neopit. Brennan was born on July 11, 1991 to Nanine (Waupoose) Askenette and John Dess, Jr. in Shawano. Brennan, well known as "B-Rabbit" attended grade school at Keshena Primary School, Menominee Middle School, and Menominee Tribal School, graduated as Valedictorian from Menominee Indian High School from the class of 2009. He continued his education at UW-Madison in the field of Medical Science and Nursing. He then transferred closer to home to attend the College of Menominee Nation in 2012, where his options became widespread through any medical and science field. He had a great love for his homeland, The Menominee Indian Reservation and all within its boundaries. He continued his studies in Bioscience. Brennan graduated in June, 2015 with his Associates of Arts & Science/Biological and Physical Science.
After graduating, Brennan began working with the Youth Empowerment Program and was a strong advocate for those with Type I Diabetes as well. He then continued on with the Woodland Boys and Girls Club.
Brennan loved all of his family and friends, sharing his love, laughter, knowledge and encouragement. He gave everyone whom he met hugs and firm handshakes, and all his respect. Brennan developed a love for volleyball at a young age as he watched his mom coach volleyball at MIMS. He would be a back-up at their practices and became quite the player himself. While attending UW-Madison, his love and skills for the sport landed him a spot on the UW-Madison men's volleyball team. He continued to play on league teams in the area.
Brennan always cherished his times of fishing with his dad and cousins, gaining fishing stories he can share with so much laughter.
Brennan will be greatly missed by his mother, Nanine, father, John (Michelle), his siblings, John (Elizabeth) Dess III, Natana (Joe), Lara, Derrick (Jessica) Dess, Neesha (Hugo) Ruiz, Kenneth (Joanna) Askenette Jr., Peter Askenette, special brothers and sisters, Lewis, Natasha, LaKiesha, Dianna, Shaquinne, Lucinda (Mitchell), Shanae (Richard), Heaven (Ian), Jordan (Shawne Marie), Sharon, Marlin, Miriam, McKayla (Andy), his grandmother, Marilyn "Nonnie" Dess, numerous aunts and uncles, and Godmother, Alecia "Bubbles" Smith.
Brennan is preceded in death by his grandparents, John Dess, LeRoy "WoodChuck" Waupoose, Jean Marie Waupoose, special grandmother, Janice Tourtillot, special brother, Anthony "Tim" Wilber Jr., his baby sister, Jwin, Godfather, Pete Waupoose, stepfather, Kenneth "Udge" Askenette Sr., Uncle Jim Chupco, Uncle Mike Skenandore, Uncle Al McCann, Aunt Karen Carroll, Cousin Chebon Chupco, and Cousin Georgia Kary.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit with Fr. Hanz Christian officiating. Visitation will begin on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at the Neopit Community Center at 2:30 pm until the procession leaves for the church on Saturday.
