Vogelsang
August 1, 1962 – September 19, 2023
B rian G. Vogelsang, age 61, of Gresham, passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 19, 2023, in Appleton surrounded by his family. Brian was born in Shawano on August 1, 1962, to the late Ernest "Sonny" and Marie "Sug" (Peters) Vogelsang. After high school Brian enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served for three years and received an honorable discharge. He returned home and after one summer he re-enlisted in the National Guard. Brian worked as a truck driver for many years, twelve of those years for Tri-Hi Transportation in Merrill where he made lifelong friends. Brian was united in marriage to the former Peggy Thielman on June 1, 2013, in Gresham. Brian enjoyed telling a great story and had a passion for cooking. More than anything he loved being surrounded by his family and he cherished spending time with his grandchildren.
Brian is survived by his wife, Peggy Vogelsang; children, Megan (Marc) Lardinois, Kyle (Lynzi) Vogelsang, stepson, Shane Farrington; stepdaughter, Sam (Erik) Olson; nine grandchildren, Eli, Jayden, Rhylee, Rory, Suzy, Wyett, Barbara, Maverick, and Odin; siblings, Toni (Kevin) Henderson and Bradley Vogelsang; and aunts, Emily Adair and Bess Hetzer. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Brian is preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Kylee; and a brother, Paul Vogelsang.
A funeral service for Brian will be held at noon on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the Old Stockbridge Presbyterian Church in Morgan Siding with Rev. Gordon Oliver officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of the service. Military Honors will be conducted at the church by the Gresham American Legion immediately following the service.
Brian's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff in the ThedaCare ICU in Appleton for the wonderful care Brian received.
