BriAnne Mae Ahwaapeesiit Goss, age 23, of Bowler, passed away unexpectedly on January 13, 2018 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. BriAnne was born on March 11, 1994 in Antigo to Janet Miller and Brian Goss. She graduated from Bowler High School in 2012 and continued her education at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, graduating in 2016 with a Bachelor's in Social Work and Sociology. In 2017, BriAnne graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay and became a member of Phi Alpha Honor Society. She worked for the Menominee Tribe as an Indian Child Welfare Social Worker since March of 2017 and was a member of Lutheran Church of the Wilderness. She enjoyed playing softball for the Bad Habit, volleyball for the War Bonnet, going to Canada to fish and up to the family cabin in Sayner. BriAnne was a young, beautiful, warm hearted and talented young lady who put others before herself. She was easy to like and enjoyed laughing and being with her family and friends.
BriAnne is survived by: her parents; her grandparents, Carol Goss and Dick and Patricia Miller; aunts and uncles, Joe (Amanda) Goss, Candi (Chris) Miller, Amanda (Carlton) Stevens and Myra (Wade) Pommer; her very special cousins, Seth, Nathaniel, Caleb, Robin Hart, Isabella, Chase, Wanbli, Courtney, Ally, Thomas, Lennon and Joey.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Gary Goss.
Funeral services for BriAnne will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Lutheran Church of the Wilderness with Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Stockbridge Indian Burial Grounds. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the Stockbridge Elderly Center and again at the church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
