Obituary

Bruce "Fat Cat" "Boo" Miller, age 75, passed away at his home on the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohican Nation, Bowler, WI on the evening of May 30, 2024. Bruce was born on May 13, 1949, in Wisconsin to the late Vilas and Valetta (Vele) Miller. He was born to be a traveler and was very involved in the American Indian Movement. Bruce made many friends through his travels and had a special family out east. He was proud of his heritage and the traditional culture of his tribe. He was always learning, teaching and practicing his culture. Bruce had a wonderful sense of humor and he would always razz and make digs at his family and friends. In his free time, Bruce loved playing slots, bingo and cruising the inside of the casino. Bruce was fun loving until the very end. He believed in living a simplistic life and was deeply in tune with his feelings and spirituality.  He will be dearly missed.

Bruce is survived by his siblings, Brion Miller and Jacqueline Miller and special friend, Brooks McDermott. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bruce is preceded in death by his siblings, Sandra Smith, Peter W. Miller and Patsy Delgado and parents, Vilas and Valetta.

A funeral service for Bruce will be held at 11:00 am June 10, 2024, at Church of the Wilderness with Pastor Lois Graper officiating. Burial will be held at Red Springs Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held at 9:30 am and continue until the time of service.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Aspirus Kidney Care of Antigo and the nurses from Unity Hospice for their extended care of Bruce.
