Calvin J. “Jimmy” Barnes, age 71, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, in Shawano. Born on May 28, 1954, to the late John and Eleanor (Webster) Barnes. Jimmy worked in construction for most of his life. He was united in marriage to Michele Kinepoway in 2011 in Keshena. Jimmy was a true outdoorsmen and loved hunting, fishing, camping, and teaching his children and grandchildren about the outdoors. He also enjoyed riding in the woods. Jimmy liked shooting pool and was well known for his annual fish fry dinners. Jimmy was a selfless man and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be deeply missed.

Jimmy is survived by: his wife of 16 years, Michele Barnes; his children, Carl (Barb) Barnes Sr., Jessica (Rafael) Colon and Jesse (Joleen) Barnes; his grandchildren, Al, Carl Jr., Shaleen, Roddy, Jalen, Kristopher, Rochae, Sapphire, Kaylee, Priscilla, and Maya; special grandchildren, Kemewan and Tally; his siblings, Irene Barnes, and Marcene (Daryl) Barnes; He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his daughter Cara, his parents, John and Eleanor “Sissy Bug” Barnes; his siblings, Russell “Barnesy”, John “Poncho”, Ellsworth “Dennis”, Virgil, Beverly, and three brothers in infancy. .

A funeral service for Jimmy will be held on Saturday March 7, 2026, at 11:00am with Fr. Hanz officiating. Visitation will begin at the Neopit Community Center from 6:00pm on Friday until the time of the service on Saturday.
