Carl J. Munson, age 64 of Shawano, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2011 at his home. Born on January 9, 1947 in Keshena, he was the son of the late Karl and Lorraine (Sheshequoam) Munson. On July 27, 1969 he was united in marriage to Mae Tourtillott in Neopit. Carl was a jack of all trades but worked as a carpenter doing home remodeling and proudly used his skills to willingly help anyone in need. When not working, Carl loved spending time with his family. He was a good father, a loving grandfather, and a proud great-grandfather. Carl also enjoyed baking, playing his guitar and singing in the band. He was a NASCAR fan, an avid Green Bay Packer fan, and a CUBS fan. Carl is survived by: his former wife, Mae Tourtillott; a daughter, Catherine (Lee Majer) Munson of Lake Villa, IL; 3 sons, Steven (Sarah) Munson of Gresham, Russell (Angela) Munson of New London, Michael Munson of Shawano; 9 grandchildren, Luke, Christian, Joshua, William, Mae, Octavia, Russell Jr., Jacob, Evelyn; a great-granddaughter, Payton; and 4 sisters, Beverly Neconish of Gresham, Dolores (Olin) Conner of Gresham, Marguerite (Ronald) Bowan of Keshena and Susan (John) Welk of Gresham. Carl was preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, Kenneth Munson; and a sister, Elizabeth Fischer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit with the Rev. Robert Rank officiating. Visitation will be held at the Neopit Community Center after 3pm Tuesday until the time of the service on Thursday. A Parish Wake service will be held on Wednesday at 6pm.
