Obituary

On January 10, 1954, Carlye Lois Wanner was born to Philip "Bud" and Lucille Wanner in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin. Carlye attended school until graduating from Clintonville High School in 1972. Carlye was united in marriage to Harry Joe Michalski on May 19, 1973. Carlye began her career at Shopko in 1978 working as on optician's technician until she retired in 2018.

During their marriage, Carlye and Joe traveled throughout the United States. Carlye and Joe settled on a plot of land in Navarino, Wisconsin. On this plot, Carlye and Joe built their home piece by piece, board by board, together without the aid of contractors, relying exclusively on one another, in one year.

After Joe, Carlye's greatest love was their home and "her" yard, as well as Rikki and Annie, the dog and cat that brought great moments of joy to her life. Carlye loved traveling, on her Harley Davidson Trike and motorhome. Some of Carlye's greatest adventures were, "The Race of Gentlemen" in Wildwood New Jersey and the "Hotrod Hill Climbs" in Colorado.

One of Carlye's greatest attributes was the willingness to try new things. Carlye always gave each new adventure absolutely 100% devotion. These adventures included Primitive camping where Carlye created and made buckskins and clothing indicative to the 1800's style, the raising and care of hybrid wolves, providing a loving and compassionate home the wolves could flourish in; and encouraging Joe as he built "hotrod" cars from the ground up.

Some of Carlye's accomplishments were, alongside Joe, building their log cabin in seven days, the ability to identify every songbird in her yard by their song, the creativity of book folding, rock painting, wreathes she fashioned from vines in her yard, planting and growing wildflowers, and breath-taking photography of all she created. Carlye was also an Officer in the Ladies of Harley organization.

Carlye had many talents and accomplishments throughout her life. It was Carlye's creativity, devotion, and "never give up" philosophy that was very apparent in all that she did.

On October 23, 2021, with Joe, and Carlye's sister, Kris at her side, Carlye entered into eternal life. Carlye was preceded by her father, Philip "Bud" Wanner, younger brother, Daryl Wanner, mother, Lucille Wanner, and niece, Shawn French.

Carlye is survived by her husband, Joe Michalski, sisters; Rachele French and Kris Zimmerman, and brother Russ Wanner.
