IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol
Darm
September 10, 1934 – December 8, 2021
Caroldean Mae "Carol" Darm passed away in Green Bay, while surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. She was born in Clintonville, on September 10, 1934, to the late Arnold F. and Anna F. (Kraut) Steenbock. Carol graduated from Clintonville High School in 1951. She began her career as a secretary/bookkeeper at Atlas Conveyer Company in Clintonville. On September 19, 1953, Carol was united in marriage with Donald Walter Darm at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Clintonville. Many may remember Carol from working at Equity Oil Co-op, Shawano Ambulance/Auto Prep Center, and Swedberg Funeral Home. Carol was a kind, compassionate, energetic, hard-working woman with a wonderful sense of humor, and a true zest for life. She was a lover of people, traveling, bowling, snowmobiling, playing cards, reading, joining friends for coffee at Beans and Books, attending early showtimes at the Shawano Cinema (even if a mediocre film) enjoying the popcorn with her dear friend, Ellen. Don and Carol relished time spent at their cottage on Shawano Lake, especially their annual 4 th of July gathering, surrounded by amazing family and friends… and always too much food. Carol belonged to a ladies' birthday group, where she shared many laughs with friends, and an additional ladies' group where she created life-long memories during their annual January Cancun trip. She treasured all her grandchildren and attending their activities, especially the card games with her granddaughter, Ashley.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon A. (Dan) Bennington of Green Bay, son, Steven L. (Wendy) Darm of DePere, grandchildren: Ashley, Samantha (Tony Holm), Corey and Rosie Darm, Lee VanEss, Kristen (fiancé, Robert Fulmer), and Katelyn Bennington (Bradley Cole), and her sister-in-law, Carol Steenbock of Clintonville.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Donald, parents, brothers, and sisters: Raymond, Harold, Henry and Donald and Marge Timmel.
A funeral service for Carol will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Rev. Mark Drangler officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at the Lake Drive Cemetery in the Town of Wescott. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to St. James Lutheran Church Radio or ASPIRO, 1673 Dousman Street, Green Bay, WI 54303.
