Carole Ann Newman, 72, died Nov. 26, 2017 of pancreatic cancer.

Carole Ann (Zwigol) Lotten Newman was born April 28, 1945 in Green Bay to the late Werner and Meriam Zwigol. She was baptized in 1947 in Green Bay. She graduated from East High School in 1963 and remained close friends with many of her classmates throughout her life.  In 1964, she married John Lotten, Jr., and they had two sons, Mark John and Sean Eric.  On Friday the 13th of January 1984, she met Darrell (Chet) Newman and they were married February 14, 1987.  They celebrated the 13th of every month as Honeys Day.

Carole worked in the insurance industry until 1987 when she and Chet started Newman Printing, Inc., in Nashville, TN.  In 2000, they sold the business and retired in Wisconsin, living ten years in Webster before moving to Cecil.

Carole was a dynamic personality often drawn into leadership responsibilities which she embraced with vigor.  She was an avid golfer, both in the summer in Wisconsin and the winter around Gulf Shores, Alabama.  She enjoyed knitting and won blue ribbons at the Shawano County Fair, but her greatest satisfaction came from producing prayer shawls with that ministry at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bonduel, where she was a member.  While wintering in Alabama, Carole and Chet greatly enjoyed the activities and work of the Wisconsin Snobirds Club.  The Newmans enjoyed traveling and visited 49 states and several foreign countries.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents.  Survivors include husband Chet; her sons: Mark, his children Julie (Andrew) Schwerke and Andrea, Christopher and Anthony Lotten; and Sean (Kim) Lotten, their children Mason, Tyson and Madison, and stepson Eric (Starr) Newman, and their children Bailey and Grant, as well as great-grandchildren Aaron and Harper Schwerke; and sister Sandra (Ray) Loppnow.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with Rev. Timothy Shoup officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Cremation services provided by Swedberg Funeral Home.
