Obituary

Catalina Vincenta Calkins Peterson lived a life centered on family, love, and devotion. Raised in part on Guam, she carried the beauty of her island childhood and its deep sense of family with her throughout her life. Those early years helped shape the loving and generous woman she became, someone whose greatest joy was caring for the people she loved.

Catalina’s journey began in Idaho. Her father’s work later brought the family to Guam, and as life carried her onward, she made her home in New Mexico, her mother’s home state, and eventually Wisconsin. Through every chapter and every place she called home, one thing remained constant: home was wherever her family gathered. With her steady presence, kindness, and devotion, Catalina had a way of making those around her feel that they belonged.

In her later years, Catalina devoted much of herself to caring for her brother, Christopher, and her mother, Fabiola. She gave them her time, patience, companionship, and love, showing through her actions what it meant to be truly devoted to family. The bond she shared with them reflected what had always been at the heart of her life: family came first.

Catalina will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the sacrifices she made without hesitation, and the care she showed to those who meant the most to her. Her life touched those around her not through grand gestures, but through the countless ways she was simply there when her family needed her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas; her mother, Fabiola; and her brother, Christopher. She is survived by her daughter, Micaela; her grandson, Thomas; her niece, Kaitlin; and her nephew, Cody, along with his wife, Marisol, and their children, Dante and Alexandria.

Though Catalina is deeply missed, the love she gave throughout her life remains. It lives on in the family she cherished, in the memories they carry, and in the example of devotion she leaves behind. Wherever her family gathers, a part of Catalina will always be home.
