Catherine A. Shegonee, age 63, passed away in her home on Thursday, July 30, 2026. Cathy was adopted at nine months old by the Hartwig family.

She attended Sacred Heart Elementary School in Shawano and lived in Shawano until moving to Milwaukee and providing for the elderly. Cathy also drove medical transportation for Medivan. She later returned to her hometown in 2025. Cathy worked hard even though life handed her many challenges. She door dashed until walking became too difficult.

She will be missed by her dear family and friends and especially by her beloved dog and dedicated companion “Champ” who stayed by her side until her passing day. She is now at peace.

A memorial prayer service and fire will take place at 11:00 am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Parish Hall, located at W6786 BIA Rte. 431, Neopit, WI, on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
